Description
Fine Ewe kente chief’s cloth with a striking grid pattern of yellow weft blocks against a blue ground with yellow pinstripes. A few paired little geometric motifs in red, white, or yellow are set amongst the grid breaking up the regularity of the design, while red and yellow border patterns mark both ends of the cloth. Dates from circa 1950 and is in excellent complete condition.
Measurements 9’11” x 5’9, 303 cm x 174.
