Description
Finely embroidered depiction of an Asafo Company officer, the Supi, wearing his amulet covered war tunic, a batakari kese, on this interesting 1970s Fante Asafo flag from Ghana. He points towards a signal rocket and is accompanied by a dane gun carrying warrior. The text tells us that this flag was commissioned by a Supi called Kodwo Wangar for the No 2 Company in the village of Egyaa. A few faint marks consistent with use but in good overall condition.
