Description
Three different patterned strips alternate in this fine Yoruba asooke woman’s wrap cloth, dating from around 1930s. Two are warp striped with white and shades of indigo dyed hand spun cotton thread. The third strip picks up the same colours with a sky blue ground of mill spun cotton covered with elaborate white extra weft float motifs. In excellent condition with it’s original hand stitched seams and hems.
