Description
Silk weft faced stripes and supplementary weft float motifs are vivid flashes of colour against the subdued blue and white “guineafowl” check cotton background of this fine Asante kente chief’s cloth. The variety and precision of the weaving expressed in the float motifs make this a special piece by a highly skilled master weaver. Dates from circa 1930-1950. In excellent condition.
