Description
E1142 – Large checkerboard patterned cotton Ewe kente chief’s cloth, with narrow 5 cm width strips allowing rich red coloured squares to alternate with a blue and white check. This is an old style of cloth that continued to be woven at least into the 1970s, but this example probably dates from around 1950. It is in excellent complete condition.
Measures 129 inches X 79, 329 cm X 200.
