Description
Dramatic checkerboard style weft faced Ewe kente chief’s cloth from the Ghana/Togo border region, dating from circa 1950s. Dark navy blue blocks are separated by orange stripes from blocks where the orange thread is blended with light blue. On the lower edge strip (at the right in the photo) three blocks of more varied colour are introduced. In excellent complete condition. Would make a wonderful bedspread.
Measurements 9’2″ x 6′, 278cm x 184.
