Description
One of my favourite styles of mid-century Yoruba “sanyan” asooke is this subtle pattern where irregular rows of three white weft stripes are almost hidden by the beige warp threads, set between small blocks of woven openwork. The use of hand spun cotton in the weft gives the cloth some weight and a pleasing slubby texture. In excellent condition. A great piece for making cushions/pillows or other interiors uses.
Measurements 6’11” x 3′ 7″, 210 cm x 110.
