Description
Another post-Independence Mali cloth with the red, yellow, green stripes of the Mali flag framing rows of black extra weft float. Here the background is a nice alternation of white and sand coloured weft stripes. Woven from mill spun cotton it’s mid weight and the work of a Fulani or perhaps Bamana weaver in Mali around the 1980s. Some faint colour run in places.
Measurements 7’10” x 3’7″, 240 cm x 109.
