Zigzag lightening and thunder motifs reminiscent of Sango/Hevioso dance wands predominate among the multiple weft float motifs on this exceptionally elaborate Ewe kente woman’s cloth dating from around the 1930s-1950s. We can wonder whether they relate to a specific commission and perhaps religious affiliation of the woman who ordered the cloth or had become stylistic habit of this weaver. In excellent complete condition.
