Description
Fine rich blue colour on this indigo dyed hand spun cotton men’s cloth from the Bondoukou region of north eastern Ivory Coast, circa 1920-40. Worn by a senior man among the Abron or perhaps Koulango ethnic group. Narrow white warp stripes along the edges of each strip. Men’s cloth like this are now hard to source, particularly when like this one they are in excellent complete condition
Measurements 9’9″ x 6’5″, 297 cm x 196.
