Description
Fine Ewe kente chief’s cloth in excellent complete condition. Pinstripes in red, white, black, and yellow, set off a regular grid pattern of weft blocks in which pink and lime green predominate. Finely woven extra weft float motifs include a crocodile eating a fish, human figures, animals, and birds. Dating from circa 1930-1950 this is a classic Ewe cloth of a quality that is now increasingly difficult to source.
Measurements 10’9″ x 6’10”, 326 cm x 208.
