Description
Lovely faded variant of the chequerboard style of prestige cloths woven by both Fulani and Bamana weavers in the region north of Segou in Mali. Thick hand spun indigo dyed cotton, with surprisingly delicate weft float patterning. Would work as a dhurrie type rug in a low traffic spot, or as a throw or hanging. There’s one old darned repair and a couple of small marks (swipe to view) otherwise in very good complete condition.
Measurements 7′ 1″ x 4’7″ , 215 cm x 140.
