Description
Exceptional green ground Ewe kente cotton strip weave woman’s cloth with a fine array of animals and birds depicted throughout. Women’s size cloths with such elaborate float weaving were always scarcer than men’s, most likely because they had less spare money to devote to prestige display. In recent years they have become exceptionally difficult to source, particularly in original complete condition like this. Dates from circa 1930-1950.
