Duck egg blue weft float patterning on the pale beige cotton “sanyan” ground of this classic mid C20th Yoruba asooke woman’s wrapper cloth. No openwork of floating threads on this piece, instead a carefully placed interaction of pale blue warp stripes and black weft stripes that are almost hidden by the warp. In excellent condition. These strong cloths make excellent wall hangings or furnishing fabrics for pillows or small upholstery projects.
