Description
Another interesting 1960s cloth from the Bondoukou region of north eastern Ivory Coast. Likely to be the work of a weaver from the Diola/Dyula people. Half width strips were used to create the alternation of red and white squares, muted by the white warp. In the blue and white strips we can just make out blocks of coloured weft stripes almost concealed by the dark warp. In excellent neat condition.
Measurements 5’10” x 3’5″, 178 cm x 104.
