Description
Little blocks of coloured wool dot the muted background of this interesting Dioula woman’s wrapper cloth from northern Ivory Coast. Sets of four bright wool squares are set between very neatly woven weft float motifs that differ on each strip. Overall an attractive and most unusual cloth. Dates from circa 1970 and is in excellent condition.
Measurements 5’2″ x 3’10, 157 cm x 117.
