Description
There’s something calming and contemplative about this restrained style of Ewe kente cloth, no spectacular flourishes, just neat precise weaving and the careful building up of pattern blocks with row by row of colours against the blue and white check cotton ground. This is a fine version of the “guineafowl” pattern, with a scattering of yellow cotton supplementary weft float motifs In very good strong condition. Dates from circa 1930-1950.
Measurements 6’2″ x 4’3″, 188 cm x 130.
