Description
Black weft float diamonds alternate with rows of openwork on a beige and white striped background of this 1960s Yoruba asooke cloth. The irregular shape is because sewing the strips together to make a rectangular cloth is more complicated than one might think. For reasons I don’t understand this is what happens if you do it wrong. Otherwise in excellent condition.
Measurements: 6’3″ x 4’5″, 190 cm x 135.
