Description
Two different warp striped patterns alternate in this carefully planned Ewe kente men’s cloth, with a regular grid effect of weft faced blocks and an array of orange extra weft float motifs including birds, men etcetera. These are placed in the centre of the cloth where they would be most apparent during wear, an effect that would mimic the impact of a more expensive piece with motifs all over. In excellent fresh condition. Dates from circa 1960.
